Dangers of Mixing Law and Grace - 7

The focus here will be short and brief, but to the point.  "Covenant/Reformed" theology over-simplifies the Bible when it comes to the matter of Covenants.  As noted in part 7 of this series, the "Covenant/Reformed" mainline denominations view the Bible through just two and occasionally three covenants.  While I discussed the problems that "Covenant/Reformed" churches have over the matter of Law and Grace, is further complicated by how they deal with (mostly ignored) the issue of God's covenants throughout the Bible.

Dispensationalism renders the topic of Biblical covenants through at least "Seven" and some such as Messianic Jewish scholar Dr. Arnold Fruchtenbaum, render "Eight" covenants in the Bible.  Dr. Chuck Missler and Dr. Ed Hindson are in agreement with Dr. Fructenbaum.  Others come in between "seven" and "nine".  This for me was an eye-opener because, as I have shared previously, my theological education was done at "Covenant/Reformed" academic schools.  At one point I foolishly contemplated demanding a refund on my tuition when it became clear to me that I had been short-changed.  Nonetheless, "Covenant/Reformed" theological schools do a huge disservice to their students, on this, and other misrepresentations as well.

The primary "Eight" Biblical covenants are defined as follows:

    1.  The Edenic Covenant
    2.  The Adamic Covenant
    3.  The Noahic Covenant
    4.  The Abrahamic Covenant
    5.  The Mosaic Covenant
    6.  The Davidic Covenant
    7.  The Palestinian Covenant
    8.
  The "New" Covenant

The distinction of "Eight" covenants is made in "Dispensational" theology, and just from observation, one can see that Scripture is defined in much greater detail than that of the other school of thought, the "Covenant/Reformed" theology, which incorrectly defines only two or three, and none of them are Biblically-based.  Furthermore, the distinction of "Eight" covenants actually aligns better with the "Dispensational" Ages which the Apostle Paul noted in his epistles.

Regretfully, the "Covenant/Reformed" theology has permitted an over-simplification of the Bible by defining the Bible as a 2 or 3 Covenant system divided as the Old and New Testaments.  It’s just another example of where and how the Roman Catholic Institution has deceived Christian folk throughout the last fifteen hundred years.  Their lies and deceptions were inherited by those mainline denominations that adopted the "Covenant/Reformed" theological method following the Reformation.

I am keeping this post short but focused on pointing out something that most of the Church today has never been taught or understand.  However, its importance is extremely essential in understanding "Dispensationalism" and more than that, a clear understanding of the Bible.  So much confusion comes as a result of the general mixing of Law and Grace.  The key point to understand is that "Covenant/Reformed" theology over-simplifies the Biblical understanding of a two-covenant Bible division!

Blessings and Truth from our Lord Jesus Christ,
